BIENBIE | Care & Preservation Guide

Due to the exceptional, natural nature of our materials, slight variations in texture, shade, and grain are the hallmarks of authentic luxury and should be celebrated. Because we exclusively craft with genuine, high grade fur, shearling, and full-grain leather and never use synthetic faux materials our pieces require tailored, artisanal care to maintain their integrity over a lifetime.

Shearling & Genuine Fur

Moisture Care: Avoid wearing your shearling or fur pieces in heavy downpours. If you do get caught in the rain, gently shake off any excess water and allow the garment to dry naturally in a well-ventilated space, away from direct heat sources or radiators. Once completely dry, give the garment a gentle shake to restore its natural loft and fluffiness.

Storage: Store your investment pieces in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight to prevent natural colour fading. Always use a breathable garment bag (never plastic or synthetic coverings) to allow the natural hides to breathe.

Professional Cleaning: Never attempt to wash or dry-clean natural fur and shearling at home. Always entrust your garments to a certified, specialist fur and leather cleaner.

Leathers & Suedes

Texture & Fibre Transfer: Natural leather and fine suede may occasionally experience minor fibre or nap transfer during initial wears due to our specialized tanning and finishing processes. This is completely normal for authentic hides. Any loose surface fibres can be easily lifted with a gentle lint roller.

Water & Elements: If leather is exposed to moisture, blot gently with a clean, dry, absorbent cloth never rub and let it dry naturally at room temperature.

Cashmere, Knitwear & Tailored Outerwear

Knitwear Care: You may gently hand-wash BIENBIE knitwear using a specialized wool and cashmere detergent at a low, cool temperature. Never wring or twist. Lay flat on a clean towel to dry in its natural shape; never hang wet knitwear, and never tumble dry. Professional dry cleaning is also recommended.
